Preparation at home
Before coming to the clinic you take a shower or a bath and remove all make-up, including nail-polish. Please do not bring children to the clinic.
If you are not treated under general anaesthesia, you are allowed to have a light breakfast (i.e. tea, cracker) before 7 a.m. Coffee, chocolate, orange-juice and milkproducts are not allowed.
If you are treated under general anaesthesia, it is essential that you come to the clinic with an empty stomach: you should not eat or drink anything (also no water) in the morning. The evening before you can eat and drink untill midnight.
You can take any regularly prescribed medication with a small sip of water. Inhalers can be taken as usual. It is better not to take any diuretics. If you take insulin, please inject only half of your regular dose in the the morning. If you take anti-coagulants please contact us. If you take any painkillers, only paracetamol is allowed as the others may thin your blood.
